International Game Technology PLC (IGT), alongside its subsidiary IGT Global Solutions Corporation has earned its long-term contract from the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission.
The long-term contract will see IGT upgrade its lottery video system that connects over 11,500 video lottery terminals and electronic table games in all Maryland’s six casinos. The agreement will last until September 2028, and there is the option of extending this for an extra four years.
To improve its Old Line State, IGT will install the INTELLIGEN system software that supports the complexity, volume, and security of controlling and monitoring every video lottery terminals and electronic table games.
What’s more, the upgrade also entails sophisticated site controllers that will ensure network diagnostics and communications are effectively maintained between all the gaming machines. It will also allow for enhanced business intelligence tools that guarantee easy everyday operations reporting and management. Disaster recovery technology is also part of the new features that come with the upgrade.
IGT Chief Operating Officer, Nick Khin, noted that IGT’s INTELLIGEN software system helps ensure that the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission utilizes enhanced tools and the best industry-leading technology vital for the continued success of video lottery terminals.
He also added that IGT has long served as Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission’s valued and trusted partner and the primary provider of video lottery terminals since 2010. According to Khin, Maryland’s lottery terminals provide a robust program, and IGT looks to help contribute towards its success in the coming decade.
