Horseracing and betting powerhouse Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) announced the introduction of the TwinSpires Sports smartphone app in Indiana and the TwinSpires Casino and Sports app in Pennsylvania. These betting and iGaming applications were revealed this week by the group.
It comes as part of CDI’s debut of its new TwinSpires brand that is available through mobile and desktop clients. The group also stated it would soon begin operating its online sports betting activities in Colorado.
Ian Williams, President of TwinSpires, had some thoughts on the situation. Just one week before the Kentucky Derby, the group’s biggest horseracing event of the year. Williams shared his enthusiasm for the new investment in online betting sites in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and soon Colorado.
Williams also discussed the benefits of using Churchill Downs as a sponsor, being able to benefit from the group’s extensive legacy of more than 150 years of gambling history. He said that players within these legalized states can now use TwinSpires to wager on sports such as Runs for the Roses.
Players that register with TwinSpires in PA, IN, and CO can now bet on professional and college sporting tournaments worldwide, including the NFL, MLB, NBA, PGA, and NHL. In addition, betting on college sports and other leagues from around the world will also be offered.
TwinSpires will also offer players casino games such as blackjack, roulette, slots, and live dealer casino games in Pennsylvania.
CDI unveiled its first TwinSpires Sportsbook and iGaming app in January 2021. With Kambi Group PLC and GAN Limited powering the technology behind the apps.
The group then launched TwinSpires Sports smartphone applications in several other states, including Michigan, Tennessee, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Colorado, the last two of which will also offer a legal casino smartphone app.
